Last Sunday, our Central Station monitoring team caught a man scoping out one of our customers, a church.
The man looked fairly harmless at first, as you can see in the video below:
The next day, another operator caught the same man crawling through the lot at the church. This time, the man looked a lot more suspicious:
After catching the second clip, the team at Central Station contacted our customer. Our customer confirmed that no one should have been crawling near their A/C units at that time, so we dispatched the police.
The police were able to catch the man. He said he was trying to use the Wifi. Thanks to our Videofied technology that caught him in the act, we didn’t buy his story.
Videofied technology
Videofied combines motion detector technology with the power of video verification in one device. The motion viewers activate when they sense motion, triggering the camera in the devices to begin recording. After recording for 10 seconds, the device sends the clip to our Central Station. Central Station then verifies whether or not it’s a legitimate intrusion. From there, they either dispatch immediately or call the customer to further verify whether or not law enforcement should be sent.
The video quality is poor by today’s standards. The low quality allows the video to be transmitted to us immediately through a cell signal. As you can see, though, the quality is good enough to verify what’s in front of the motion viewer.
Videofied technology isn’t right for every situation, but in this case it worked perfectly.
